The Wind Ensemble is composed of the top 45 to 60 musicians in the Lamar Band Program. This group is able to perform major works for bands. The Wind Ensemble performs several concerts per year, as well as preparing for UIL. Concert and Sight-reading Contests. The top players of this group also comprise the wind and percussion sections of the Lamar Symphony Orchestra.
Most recently, the Wind Ensemble was invited and performed at the Music For All National Concert Band Festival in Indianapolis, IN in March of 2024. This is a major accomplishment for the Lamar Band Program.
