FUNDRAISER — The Ghirardelli chocolate bars are almost gone! The money for the sales of this fundraiser is past due. If students still have chocolate or money to turn in, it must be done by this Friday March 8th.
FULL ORCHESTRA — The full orchestra received a sweepstakes at UIL last week. They had a wonderful performance and Mr. Leaverton and I couldn’t be more proud of the hard work these students put towards making this a memorable musical experience!
LEADERSHIP & BAND COUNCIL- Current leadership is working with Zak Lewis on the Brisket Bash fundraiser. The future leadership candidates should be reading the handbook and turning in all forms by the deadline.
GOLF TOURNAMENT – The golf and band booster clubs have teamed up to raise money together. The attached flier has details about a golf tournament on March 23rd. Invite golfers and be sure they mention they want to help the BAND when they register.
UIL SOLO & ENSEMBLE CONTEST — Those students who certified to state contest by making a division one on class one solo that was memorized, or a division one on a class one ensemble, must decide if they would like to compete in Austin in May. I have attached all the details to this email in a pdf and the students will receive a hard copy in class.
BRISKET BASH — The annual Brisket Bash fundraiser will be March 21st in the Lamar cafeteria. Make plans to attend and enjoy a night of music and food. There will be a silent auction for anyone interested.
CALENDAR — Please check the band calendar on a regular basis. There are many sectionals and rehearsals scheduled. We also have concerts and other events scheduled through June. Sectionals are a part of our performance grade and are not optional. The band after school schedule is minuscule compared to the fall. https://lamarmusic.org/
