AFTER SCHOOL REHEARSAL — Band / marching band is a co-curricular class, not extra-curricular. After school practices are “an extension of our classroom”. Therefore, attendance is taken and is mandatory. Our normal schedule is as follows: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 4:00-6:30. Rehearsal starts at 4:00pm. Students will need to be here early to get all equipment and supplies out to the rehearsal field on time. Failure to be on time and with all supplies (including a water jug), will result in discipline from the band directors.
FOOTBALL GAME FRIDAY – We will take our first road trip this Friday. We go to Irving to play Nimitz HS. Call time is 5:30pm. We should return around 11:00 pm. We will continue to wear the summer uniform.
PHOTOS – A big thank you to Steve Brawner for taking and uploading the pictures on the band website. If you haven’t seen them yet, there are over 90 photos from the summer practices, ice cream social and first football game. The band website has a link to the band Flickr site. www.lamarmusic.org
PASSBOOKS – The passbook sale has begun. We checked out all the books and we have a waiting list for those who wish to sell more books. If students have trouble selling books, please return them so the directors can find somebody who has customers waiting.
MARCH-A-THON – The winners of the march-a-thon / donation fundraising project will be announced at the game this Friday. Thank you to all the students who worked hard to collect sponsorships for the band!
CLASS SCHEDULE — All band students should be in the correct classes now. If a schedule problem persists, please let a director know ASAP.
