Announcements 7/6/12

JULY — The month of July the band office will not be open on a regular basis. If you need to contact Mr. Lang, email at or leave a message on the office phone 682-867-7057. The booster club will be sending a summer newsletter in the mail later this month. Also, news and updates will come via the weekly announcements or a Facebook post.

GREAT JOB — The Independence Day Parade was a great success! The students sounded great and marched with pride! Big thanks to all the parents who helped out with water, Gatorade and fruit.

SUMMER UNIFORMS (UPDATE!) — We will take any final summer uniform orders at the August 4th band registration date.

CALENDAR CHANGE — The band calendar should reflect a small change/addition in August. We will have a leadership only meeting on Friday Aug. 3rd from 9-1. On Saturday Aug. 4th we will have band registration. This will be the day we will hand out handbooks, forms, booster club registration, charms database updates, fees and students will be fitted for their marching uniforms. Check the band calendar to see what time you/your student should be at the band hall.

MARCHING BAND SHOW — The audio file and sheet music for the first movement of the fall show, New Planet, is now on Charms for download and listening/practicing. The 2nd and 3rd parts of the music will be uploaded soon. Students, I encourage you to practice with the audio file but please do not share this with non-Lamar students. Let’s keep it a secret until our first show!

TMEA ALL-STATE MUSIC — The etude books for next year’s TMEA audition music have been announced. The list can be found at The specific etudes will be announced July 19th on the same website.
