Announcements 7-3-13

LEADERSHIP — The leadership team had a very productive and informative workshop last week. Mr. Ferrito was very pleased with the progress and looks forward to a great marching season.

DRUM MAJORS — The drum majors, Maggie Borton, Lindsay Lehman and Phil Nickols, recently attended the SASI leadership camp at UNT. The three Lamar drum majors won the “Best General Effect” award for their salute! Congratulations to Maggie Borton on being selected for the top award of the week, the John Wooden award. She was selected from over 200 drum majors. She truly represented Lamar with Pride!

INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE — Rehearsals have been fantastic! We have had a great few rehearsals and we are ready for the parade! The weather has been the best ever and we march early in the parade
Itinerary for parade day:
6:30am – equipment trailer arrives
7:00am – ALL students arrive
9:00am – the parade starts
10:15am – approx. time we are finished

PERCUSSION — The TCU percussion ensemble with special guests will be performing at Lamar HS @ 1:00pm on Saturday July 6th. ALL band students are invited and percussion students are STRONGLY encouraged to attend. These percussion ensembles are about to travel to Spain to perform this summer.
