LEADERSHIP — The drum majors, field assistants, section leaders, president & vice president will start an intense leadership workshop next Wednesday June 26th with Mr. Peter Ferrito from Teens to Teams Inc. The directors are very excited about the future leaders of the Lamar band!

COLOR GUARD — The color guard is in the middle of its early summer training camp. They are looking great and working hard. They are welcoming the new guard assistant Le’Darius Hampton who is replacing our former instructor Manny Gonzales. The guard will miss Mr. Manny and wish him well as he has taken a band director position in Forney.

SONIC CAR HOP FUNDRAISER — Come eat at Sonic on Randol Mill this Saturday from 1-5. The color guard will be car hops and will accept donations as well. All proceeds go towards uniforms and equipment for the guard this fall.

INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE — The annual 4th of July parade is upon us. The freshmen have already worked on Captain America March at freshmen camp. Upperclassmen need to dust of the music and make sure it is memorized for the parade. We will start rehearsal on July 1st at 8am. If any students need to come pick up the music we will have it available in the band office Mon-Wed 8am — 3pm next week. Also, make sure you have your summer uniform. We will be wearing khaki shorts instead of the blue shorts. Make sure you have khaki shorts that are dress code and not frayed or cargo shorts.

PERCUSSION — Drumline rehearsal starts next Tuesday. Rehearsals will be noon to 4:00pm every Tuesday all summer.

NEW TEXT PROGRAM — The band will be switching to a NEW and FREE text program next fall. The LHS band will be using Remind101 for all band text updates. Instructions are attached to this email. Text updates will still also be sent via 90210 until mid-June.
