TMEA ALL-STATE MUSIC — The etude books for next year’s TMEA audition music have been announced. The list can be found at http://www.tmea.org/divisions-regions/band/audition-material/fmpro?-format=/Etudes/bandbooks.htm The specific etudes will be announced July 19th on the same website.

SENIORS — Elementary school photos of seniors will be taken soon. See attachment if you are interested.

MARCHING SEASON VIDEOS — At the banquet we were handing out DVD-R Data disks with recordings from several marching band events. Please keep in mind; these are Data disks not videos. They will only play on a computer once you have opened the disk in your computers file browser. If you did not pick up your free disk at the banquet they will also be available at the band concert on the 24th. When you get a chance, please thank Mark Breedlove and the LBBC for making these videos available.

STATE ENSEMBLE DINNER — There will be a dinner at 6 PM on Thursday, May 24th that will feature our State UIL Ensembles. Tickets sales have ended but a limited number of tickets will be available first come, first serve at the door. We have some amazing groups this year; you will not want to miss this event!

SPRING CONCERTS — Our spring concert season is off to a great start. Make plans now to see the Nichols JH Cluster TONIGHT, May 23rd, and The Lamar Bands on Thursday, May 24th, at 7:30pm. The bands have been working very hard and these will all be incredible events. Best of all, they are FREE! Bring your friends!

2012-13 BAND AUDITIONS — Brass, Woodwind, Percussion, Colorguard and Jazz band auditions have been completed and results will be posted on Friday May 25th in the band hall. The talent of the students is at an all-time high. The future looks extremely bright! If there are any 8th graders who still need to audition, please do so on June 1st and/or 2nd during the NEW MEMBER marching camp. Contact the band office with questions.

BAND ACTIVITY FEES — Any unpaid fees are now past due and a list of these unpaid fees has been submitted to the Lamar bookkeeper. Please take care of any late payments asap! If you need to apply for financial aid, please see Mr Pease soon.

LEADERSHIP CAR WASH — Monday, May 28th The student leaders and other band student volunteers will be washing cars from 9am to 3pm at Big Lots on Lamar and Cooper. All proceeds from this car wash will be used towards the fees for June’s Leadership Camp at TAMU Commerce.

GRADUATION 2012 – All Non-Senior members of the band will be performing at Graduation this year. The Graduation Band will rehearse on Tuesday, May 29th and Thursday, May 31st immediately after school. For Graduation everyone will meet in the Lamar Band Hall at 1:00 PM on Sunday, June 3rd. Dress will be “Sunday best”. We will warm up, ride a bus to UTA, play for graduation, and then ride the bus back to Lamar. We should be back at Lamar around 5:30 PM.

SHOWCASE IN THE SQUARE – The town of Southlake and Apex Arts Association are pleased to announce the 2nd annual Showcase in the Square at Southlake Town Center. Showcase in the Square will feature 4 Texas based Drum Corps. This event will be held Father’s Day evening, and is free to the public. See attached flyer.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED — It is time to start looking ahead. We are in need of volunteers for many different band activities like the 4th of July Parade that will be here before you know it. If you are willing to help, please contact Linda Nichols at linda.nichols@fmr.com . Tell her the types of activities you can help with….. Water service, Food service, Chaperone, Equipment repair, Donations, and much more; WE NEED YOU! We have a huge need right now to find individuals who have a truck with a class IV hitch and some experience pulling trailers. Each year for the 4th of July and throughout football season we need drivers to pull our equipment trailers. Please get in touch soon, the need for help will be here before you know it.
